Presidents Quezon's Own Guerrillas (PQOG)
The PQOG was one of the larger guerilla units in Central Luzon, organized and commanded by Col. Vicente Umali, Prewar Mayor of Tiaong, Tayabas. Teh II Corps was the propaganda Section of the PQOG under command of Lt. Col. Benedicto S. Valenzona. Its membership was made up of prominent prewar newspaper journalists and artists. Among other activities it published the underground newspaper Liberator which was distributed in Manila under the very noses of the Japanese. The first issue came out in July 1944 and continued up to the liberation.
No information is available regarding currency printed by PQOG II Corps. and only one denomination is presently known.
Generally crude in appearance, most known specimens of this issue can be traced back to a U.S. serviceman in the Philippines towards the end of the war. Official records on these notes where lost
