    Description

    This small wooden trinket box was a souvenir of the Avon Hotel, Avon Park, Fla. In my research I haven't found a hotel by that name, so I'm wondering if it's actually the Jacaranda Hotel. Looks similar, but not exact. The little box measures 3-1/2 inches wide, 2-3/8 inches deep and 1-7/8 inches tall. It's in good vintage condition, with some marks and scratches.     Update: A person who lived in Avon Park in the '70s wrote and said that he remembers this building and it is not the Jacaranda. He said in the '70s it was a run-down rooming house and he believes it was on Lake Street. When he returned in 1990, it had been torn down.
