3.5 Inch 1.44MB Floppy Disk Drive | MITSUMI by Newtronics | D359M3 | S/N 9A06AC0599
After years of repairing, tinkering, testing, proof-of-concepts, presentations, & DIY / hobbyist projects, the time has come to downscale and part with some of the equipment that is no longer needed.
Came across a cache of Floppy Disk Drives.
A suitable diagnostic software program could not be located to produce testing results.
So the testing was done as follows:
Located a Motherboard with an onboard FDD Controller
Located a Floppy Drive Cable
Located a Couple of Floppy Disks
Located a Suitable Power Supply with a 4-Pin Floppy Drive Power Connector for the FDD [ No Adapter or Converter Used ]
Connected the Floppy Drive to the MoBo & Booted from a USB Thumb Drive containing Hiren's BootCD PE Windows 10
Read the Floppy Disk via Windows Explorer
Performed a FULL [ vs. Quick ] Format of the Disk
Verified No Files Existed via Windows Explorer [ This Folder is Empty ]
Created a Text File on the Floppy Disk and Saved it - Noting the File Size was not 0 (Zero) KB
